UFC lightweight David Bielkheden announced on his blog Tuesday that he will fight on March 7 at UFC 96 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Bielkheden has already agreed to an opponent but could not to share the name until the bout contracts are signed.
Nicknamed "The Brazilian Swede," the Swedish-born Bielkheden trains out of the Brazilian Top Team in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Bielkheden (12-6) debuted for the UFC at UFC 82 on March 1, 2008 and lost to Diego Sanchez via submission due to strikes. Like Sanchez, Bielkheden has decided to move down a weight class, and in Bielkheden's lightweight debut, won a unanimous decision over Jess "The Joker" Liaudin at UFC 89 last October.
[i]Undefeated heavyweight specimen Shane Carwin (10-0) could face his toughest test to date when he collides with former division number one contender Gabriel Gonzaga (10-3) at UFC 96, which is scheduled for the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on March 7, according to a recent FiveOuncesOfPain.com report.
