Los miembros de la ATT Lashley y Lombard, junto con el medallista de bronce olimpico de wrestling, el cubano Alexis Vila, han firmado un contrato de una lucha con la organizacion californiana Palace Fighting Championships.
American Top Team products Bobby Lashley (1-0) and Hector Lombard (17-2-1), along with Cuban Olympic freestyle wrestling bronze-medalist Alexis Vila (4-0) are the latest signings for the California-based Palace Fighting Championships.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the signings from the trio's manager, Malki Kawa of First Round Management.
Each of three has signed a one-fight deal and will look to compete on an as-yet-unannounced February card for the PFC. Opponents for the fighters have yet to be determined.
Lashley, a former collegiate wrestling champion and WWE superstar, made a successful MMA debut in December. The massive 32-year-old needed just 41 seconds to dispose of opponent Joshua Franklin.
Following that December bout, sources close to the fighter informed MMAjunkie.com a bout with fellow WWE-import and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was Lashley's immediate goal.
Lombard will make his long-awaited U.S. debut on the card. The former Cuban Olympic judoka was set to debut on Nov. 8 for EliteXC before the company's demise forced the cancellation of the event.
Lombard is currently riding an 11-fight unbeaten streak. The four-year-veteran's only two career losses have come to Gegard Mousasi and Akihiro Gono.
As previously reported by MMAjunkie.com, Lombard will compete in the debuting Bellator Fighting Championships following his PFC bout.
Vila has reeled off four-straight wins since his December 2007 debut. The 125-pound fighter was last in action in a 35-second submission victory over Ian Wolf at December's "Mixed Fighting Alliance: There Will be Blood."
Kawa told MMAjunkie.com he is excited to have three of his fighters competing for the PFC.
"(PFC promoter) Christian Printup and (matchmaker) Richard Goodman have done an amazing job of developing a top-level organization," Kawa said. "The PFC has put together a solid card on Jan. 22 featuring five title fights and several UFC, WEC and PRIDE veterans. At First Round Management, we're proud to now bring three of our world-class athletes to the PFC's February event.
"We're expecting big things from Bobby Lashley, Hector Lombard and Alexis Vila. All three have the potential to be future champions. You won't want to miss them in their PFC debuts."
