M-1 reschedules M-1 Challenge finals
Due to extreme weather conditions, M-1 has been forced to reschedule its M-
1 Challenge event that had been scheduled to take place on Friday,
December 26 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Seattle, Washington.
As a result of the inclement weather conditions, it was not going to be
possible for M-1 to transport fighters from its Russian and Holland-based teams
to Seattle in time for the event.
The event was originally scheduled to feature Team Russia and Team Holland
in the finals of the 2008 M-1 Challenge with several superfights planned as
well. The finals between Team Russia and Team Holland will now be held in
Amsterdam either on December 28 or January 4.
Despite losing the M-1 Challenge finals, M-1 officials have already finalized
plans to hold an M-1 Challenge regular season event in 2009 at the Emerald
Queen in Seattle. The event will take place on February 29 and will serve as
the official 2009 regular season opener with six teams on display. The
matchups include Team France taking on Korea, Finland squaring off with
Holland, as well as Team USA going head-to-head with Brazil.
