    Strikeforce 29/3 : Frank Shamrock Vs Cung Le !!!



    Gilbert Melendez, currently ranked No. 6 in the world at lightweight, will defend his Strikeforce lightweight championship on March 29 against Chute Boxe jiu-jitsu coach Cristiano Marcello.

    The fight takes place as part of the co-promoted event by Strikeforce and EliteXC that will be televised on Showtime. The main event features Frank Shamrock defending his Strikeforce middleweight championship against rising star Cung Le.

    Marcello himself confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com, saying,

    Acabo de leer que oficialmente segun Dreams Melendez, Uno y Shaolin estan fuera de Dreams-I debido a lesiones, no se si sera una japonesada o que estan injureds de verdad. Uno se esta recuperando de la mandibula, Shaolin del hueso que le partio Jz's y Melendez?

    A ver en que queda, espero verlo en Strikeforce !

    Event producer Keiichi Sasahara said the tournament would proceed with seven tournament bouts for the time being. An eighth tournament bout wasn't possible due to injuries to Vitor Ribeiro and Caol Uno, as well as Gilbert Melendez's commitments to Strikeforce.

    However, Sasahara hopes to organize a bout between two of the fighters for the April 29 Dream card, with the winner then advancing to the quarterfinals on May 11. If that isn't possible, one fighter may be seeded directly into the May 11 quarterfinals.

        Melendez via decision, aunque m gusta cómo lucha en suelo Cristiano Marcello, no creo que vaya a finalizar al niño...

        La categoria ligera de Dreams es un auténtico desmadre ;D

                        Puede ser que lo den por digital + ? ayer viendo el Barça en el plus,me parecio ver un par de veces la publicidad ,(salio unos segundos la foto del cartel ) al principio pense que era de presincatx y no le di importancia pero a la segunda vez me parecio ver el cartel ,una foto parecida a la que tiene SNK ,y creo que ponia algo de MMA . en fin no lo se seguro pero creo que es en taquilla ,haber si encuentro la la revista que mandan cada mes y lo busco, porque si es asi tambien daran UFC no?,estaria cojonudo ver una velada de MMA en directo ,en español y para España.

                          Gilbert Melendez will be fighting on the upcoming Strikeforce and EliteXC co-promotion on March 29, but he will not be facing Chute Boxe jiu-jitsu coach Cristiano Marcello as recently reported on MMAWeekly.com.

                          Strikeforce vice president Mike Afromowitz confirmed that there had been ongoing negotiations with Marcello, but for undisclosed reasons, the fight was never actually finalized.
