The resurrected World Fighting Alliance, under the guidance of former fight manager Jeremy Lappen, is set to announce on Monday the signing of PRIDE free agent Quinton Jackson (Pictures), who joins Kazushi Sakuraba (Pictures) as the second big-name fighter to leave the Japanese organization in recent weeks, Sherdog.com has learned.
"Rampage" is expected to sign a bout agreement this afternoon in Lappen's Los Angeles office that would put him in the cage against Matt Lindland (Pictures), one of the world's best middleweights. Jackson has not fought in the U.S. since May 2002.
Lindland, who signed with the WFA earlier this year and had a bout lined up with Tito Ortiz (Pictures) before "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" re-signed with Zuffa, is 3-0 since parting ways with the the UFC in August of '05.
This fight will take place at light heavyweight.
