Ahora va a ser más difícil porque Pacquiao ha mejorado sus crochets con la mano adelantada y también combina mejor los uppercuts, pero puede que el factor edad, visto en la forma que se está poniendo Márquez desde ya, vaya a influir tanto en el resultado.

Que opinas de una predicción que incluya victoria de paquiao antes del tiempo ???
pero oye,que sería una dulce equivocación por mi parte si juanmita marquez a estas alturas se cepilla a pacman,de reverencia...que digo reverencia de mamazo.

A Márquez lo puedes mandar a la lona que el hijoputa se levanta más cabreado todavía.Sería un gran triunfo para Pacquiao si lograse noquearle.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., quien ha ganado 6 títulos en 5 divisiones distintas, buscará un nuevo cinturón cuando enfrente al campeón welter del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo Víctor Ortiz, el próximo 17 de sepiembre en Las Vegas (HBO PPV), durante el fin de semana de la celebración de la independencia de México. Pero antes, Pretty Boy Floyd habla en su diario personal sobre temas importante de su gran carrera.

1ª Parte -- Jueves 18 de agosto


Sobre lo que significó ganar su primera corona mundial:
No hay un mejor sentimiento que el ganar, pero ganar un título mundial en boxeo es difícil de describir. Yo lo sé porque he ganado todas mis peleas y soy seis veces campeón en cinco divisiones distintas.
Gané mi primer campeonato hace más de una década. Todo el mundo sabe que el boxeo está en mi sangre, pero yo quería una opotunidad al título apenas me convertí en profesional en 1996. Pero tuve que esperar hasta el 3 de octubre de 1998, cuando enfrenté a Genaro Hernández por el título ligero Jr. del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo. Era joven y estaba hambriento [por una corona].
La pelea fue en Las Vegas y Hernández estaba invicto en la división en ese momento. Fue una buena pelea, pero cuando Hernández tiró la toalla en el 8º round, sabía que las palabras "campeón mundial" siempre estarían pegadas a mi nombre. Esa fue la última pelea profesional de Hernández. Es triste decir que Hernández falleció el año pasado a la edad de 45 años. Lo respeté como persona y como peleador. Él me dio mi primera oportunidad de ganar un título mundial. Se lo va a extrañar, que descanse en paz.
Yo era un joven boxeador profesional y estrella en subida que le peleó a cualquiera que me pusieron enfrente para llegar a donde estoy hoy. Esa pelea fue un momento clave para mi, y me ayudó a encaminarme hacia los otros campeonatos y la grandeza que he conseguido en el boxeo en mi carrera. Sigo de la misma manera hoy en día, listo y dispuesto a enfrentar a los mejores rivales disponibles. El 17 de septiembre, enfrentaré a un fuerte y hambriento campeón en Víctor Ortiz.
Ortiz es un peleador de clase mundial y el actual campeón welter, pero yo soy el mejor. Estoy de regreso en el gimnasio 24/7 y estoy muy entusiasmado de pelear el 17 de septiembre. Asi que miren la pelea en HBO PPV y sean parte de otra "experiencia Mayweather". Mejor que Ortiz esté preparado, proque yo lo voy a estar. Es una gran bendición tener la carrera que yo he tenido en el boxeo.

Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel vs Álvaro Pérez

Esta noche en Ensenada, Baja California el ex campeón mundial Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel se medirá al nicaragüense Álvaro Pérez.
El mexicano Montiel después de perder sus cinturones en febrero con Nonito Donaire y de regresar en junio venciendo a Nehomar Cermeño espera que este sea su último combate sin ningún título en juego antes de volver a disputar un mundial.
Afirmó: “Mi mente siempre está puesta en los títulos mundiales, tengo ya más de 20 peleas de Campeonato y es raro no pelear por uno, pero ya estoy listo para ir por mi cuarto cetro”.
“En peso Supergallo me siento más recuperado, más fuerte, no tengo problemas para marcar el peso, pero eso sí, siempre me ha gustado trabajar fuerte en el gimnasio y para este combate no fue la excepción, vengo con todo”,
La velada la componen otros enfrentamientos en el peso ligero el mexicano Aaron “La Joya” Herrera (20-0-0, 15 nocauts) se medirá al nicaragüense Carlos Winston Velázquez (18-11-0, 10 ko’s).
En welter duelo de mexicanos Jorge “Pantera” Silva (15-1-1, 14 ko’s) se enfrentará a Alvaro “Tyson” Robles (11-0-0, 10 ko’s).

Angulo pleased to be back in the game

Alfredo Angulo can put a positive spin on the fact he has been out of boxing for the past 13 months. The hard-charging junior middleweight contender from Mexico was able to spend precious time with family and friends in Mexicali, his hometown. He went about 11 months without boxing at all, allowing his body to heal from typical aches and pains.
And, most important, he was able to sort out his stalled career and get a fresh start.
"El Perro" had a bitter split with promoter Gary Shaw and signed with Golden Boy Promotions, under whose banner he’ll fight journeyman Joseph Gomez of Bloomfield, N.M., on Saturday night in Mexicali on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.com.
Now he hopes to resolve visa issues that have prevented him from fighting in the United States, the final step in the full resumption of his career.
“Yes, it was frustrating,” Angulo said in a phone interview from his training camp in Mexicali, speaking through a translator. “I couldn’t do what I love to do the most, which is to fight.
“I always had a desire to fight. That’s why it was so frustrating.”
Angulo’s problems with Shaw stem mostly from an offer to fight Sergio Martinez on HBO in the fall of last year – before Angulo’s visa issues -- and the fighter’s inactivity.
Shaw said HBO offered him $900,000 and he in turn offered Angulo a career-high $750,000, the balance being Shaw’s percentage of the pie. Angulo asked for $1 million, Shaw said that was impossible and the two haven’t spoken since.
Angulo believes he was low-balled. “I know a lot more money was available for that fight. Shaw just didn’t want to move,” Angulo said.
Shaw said he had no flexibility based on HBO’s offer.
The result is that fighter and promoter have parted ways, Shaw accepting a buy out from Golden Boy to give up rights to Angulo. Both Angulo and Shaw, who once were close, were wounded by the split.
“I don’t believe we have the same values. Money was more important to him than our friendship,” Angulo said.
Said Shaw: “I’m at peace because all I did was love him like a son.”
U.S. immigration officials determined last September that Angulo had overstayed his visa here, meaning he had no choice but to return to his native Mexico and wait.
Michael Miller, Angulo’s advisor and an attorney, said he is working on getting Angulo a new visa and believes it will happen soon. The fighter, who had been living in Southern California, also is optimistic.
“Everything was processed correctly this time. We’re just waiting for final approval,” Angulo said.
The inactivity also weighed on Angulo, who could fight anywhere outside the U.S. He blamed Shaw, saying the promoter failed to get to him fights. Shaw said he had difficulty even reaching the fighter in the Mexico.
The bottom line: He didn’t fight for more than a year, which put a halt to the considerable momentum he had established with four consecutive knockouts against good fighters after he was outpointed by Kermit Cintron in May 2009.
Angulo said he has been training diligently in Mexicali for two months, including 250 rounds of hard sparring. He doesn’t expect to experience any ring rust in what amounts to a tune-up fight.
“I’m really excited, in really good shape,” he said.
Angulo probably won’t have problems with Gomez (17-4-1, 8 KOS), a light puncher who has lost three of his past four fights.
However, a victory could lead immediately to something big. The WBC has ordered a title eliminator between Angulo and Vanes Martirosyan, the winner becoming the mandatory challenger to titleholder Saul Alvarez.
Both fighters apparently are eager to make the fight either in the U.S. or Mexico. And Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said he already has discussed it with officials at Showtime and HBO and received “tremendous interest.”
Next Schaefef must discuss it with Martirosyan’s promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank.
“I don’t think Martirosyan has a problem fighting Angulo in Mexico,” Schaefer said. “The Mexican fans love him. I just need to sit down with Bob and see if we can get it done.”
Angulo said he isn’t looking past Gomez but, if things go well, he believes the Martirosyan fight will happen. He also thinks Alvarez would fight him, although “Canelo” probably will want to gain more experience before taking on that challenge.
For now, “El Perro” is just glad to be back in the game and past a difficult year.
“Whether I win a title or not, I’ve already put Gary Shaw and that part of my life behind me,” he said. “… I’m done with that. I’m very happy right now.”

El boxeador habla previo a su combate ante Joseph Gómez

Postergan pelea Maidana-Guerrero

LOS ANGELES -- El californiano Robert Guerrero sufrió una lesión en su hombro izquierdo durante su sesión de entrenamiento que lo obligó a cancelar su pelea contra Marcos Maidana por el cetro welter Jr. de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB).

Fantasma Guerrero estaba programado parea enfrentar al Chino Maidana el próximo 27 de agosto en el HP Pavilion de San José, California, lo que obligó a la promotora Golden Boy Promotions a suspender toda el cartel.

Guerrero está en camino a recibir un examen de resonancia magnética (MRI) para determinar la severidad de la lesión, y cuánto tiempo estará fuera del gimnasio. La lesión es un difícil revés para el equipo de Guerrero, cuando la pelea estaba a casi una semana por efectuarse.

"Estoy devastado porque trabajé mi vida entera por la oportunidad de estar en el evento estelar de HBO. Es un demoledor golpe para mi equipo y familia pero continuaré manteniendo mi fe en Jesucristo. A todos mis aficionados les digo que estaré de vuelta y sé que Dios tiene proyectos para que pueda actuar en el futuro", explicó.

Marcos Maidana ofreció sus pensamientos respecto a Guerrero, pero manifestó estar impaciente para que le programen otra pelea tan pronto sea posible.

"Estoy muy decepcionado al escuchar que Guerrero se lastimó, sobre todo en esta etapa del campo de entrenamiento. Espero que se recupere pronto, pero también quiero conseguir un oponente para sustituirlo porque he estado trabajando realmente fuerte durante aproximadamente 12 semanas, y necesito pelear. Enfrentaré a cualquiera que me pongan enfrente", enfatizó.
