    hombre pero por estadistica entonces el striking de jds es aplastante contra el de alistair...
    yo tal y como les veo a ambos hoy por hoy, no hay color, a jds le veo un atleta y a overeem un mulo...
    (hay luchadores que usan el clinch para desgastar al contrario, pero hemos visto que overeem se desgasta mas él de lo que desgasta al rivos ergo...)

      A ver. La pelea era la q todos queriamos. Salimos todos ganando, porque es el mejor emparejamiento posible en hw. Ufc y cain no creo q esten q lo viertan, por otra parte, con el dueñas peleando por el cinto.

        Overeem tiene 19 victorias por sub. Y su gnp es brutal. Si uno de los dos es unidimensional es jds. Overeem tiene sus pedos mentales, pero tiene mejores patadas, rodillas, clinch y gnp q junior.
        De acuerdo en todo, pero sigo pensando que no es el mejor combate posible, apetecer apetece pero no ahora. Quemas dos cartuchos sin necesidad cuando más adelante puedes hacer un ppv encabezado por estos dos con un tittle shot en juego. Y si lo miramos desde el punto de vista deportivo ambos vienen de derrotas y uno de los dos tras el combate estará en un pozo quedando a la altura de los Barry y Miocic de turno.

                      “ Zuffa scored a big win in their lawsuit against New York today, paving the way for the organization to legally hold a UFC event in the state almost immediately and regardless of whether or not the ban on professional mixed martial arts is lifted by the legislature.

                      In what was supposed to be a day of oral arguments pertaining to the State Attorney General's most recent motion to dismiss, attorney John M. Schwartz – representing the Attorney General's office – acknowledged unequivocally that the law prohibiting pro MMA did not apply to amateur versions of the sport, and that as per the statute, a pre-approved third-party sanctioning body could oversee MMA events in the state. The admission of the latter prompted the counsel representing Zuffa's interests to say that if that were truly the case, then there'd be no further need to pursue the lawsuit – which in turn prompted the presiding Judge Kimba Wood of the U.S District Court of the Southern District of New York to push both sides to immediately settle.

                      The statute banning professional MMA in New York was enacted in 1997, at a time when fighting in a cage was more spectacle than sport. But MMA has evolved since then, and with the inclusion of a plethora of rules and a variety of weight classes, sanctioning can be attained in nearly every other state in the country. New York remains one of the last holdouts. Efforts to have the ban repealed by lobbying the legislature have stalled each year since 2008; Zuffa's lawsuit against the State of New York, citing Constitutional violations, was filed in November, 2011.

                      Notwithstanding whether a settlement is reached, the door is now open for Zuffa – or any other MMA promotion – to circumvent the ban by utilizing one of the pre-approved sanctioning bodies enumerated in the statute. Those sanctioning bodies include the World Karate Association (since renamed the World Kickboxing Association, a.k.a. the "WKA"), the Professional Karate Association and the U.S. Judo Association, among others.

                      Only a few of the organizations listed are currently still active, and while the WKA has been responsible for sanctioning professional kickboxing events in New York for years, a recent letter sent to Governor Andrew Cuomo by the Association of Boxing Commissions blasted the state for placing sanctioning responsibility in the hands of organizations who have "failed to meet the health and safety standards that the Association believes are necessary." Regardless, under the 1997 law and by the Attorney General's own admission, sanctioning by a third-party organization is a viable way around the ban. In addition, as long as the law remains on the books, the New York State Athletic Commission has no regulatory authority over MMA and would therefore have no oversight over such events.

                      "We'll take it," said UFC in-house counsel Timothy Bellamy, who was present at today's proceedings. "We'd rather have the state lift the ban and we go that route first, but we'll know in the next two months if that's going to happen." If it doesn't, said Bellamy, then the UFC would use the third-party-sanctioning option.

                      In January, UFC president Dana White promised a UFC at Madison Square Garden this coming November. It seems that event may now very well happen.


                      I think there's something extremely important to mention and discuss regarding the news from yesterday (not sure who said it was BREAKING, we posted that same quote yesterday) that the UFC has found a "loophole" that will allow them to hold an event in New York. There is one key phrase that nobody seems to be paying enough attention to and it requires some addressing. It is the following:

                      "[...] the law prohibiting pro MMA did not apply to amateur versions of the sport [...] "

                      Now, as far as I know, people who fight for the UFC are considered to be fighting a professional version of the sport - they are contracted certain purses and are paid sums of money for their fights. Why is it that nobody seems to have noticed or mentioned this, apart from the fact that the majority of internet users are too impatient to read more than 140 characters in one go?

                      How exactly is the UFC going to get around this? No contracted purses for everyone and only pay them via bonus or "under the table" means? And then what happens when the fighters go to claim their income - will they claim income made in New York for the fight, thus admitting they've competed in a professional bout? Or will they remain "amateur" and therefore not count toward their professional records?

                      Can anyone find any more information pertaining to this? Any thoughts? Am I the only one who's seeing the same problem, and that this isn't the big EUREKA! moment we've all been waiting for? Until we hear more, I think there's still a long way to go before we see any superfights at Madison Square Gardens.

                          he leído una noticia sobre la posibilidad de celebrar el 20º aniversario del primer Ufc este año en Noviembre en el Madison Square Garden, en NY a través de la WKA y el Main Event sería........... Anderson Silva vs Jon Jones!

                              Pues yo en este tema le doy toda la razón, ella es la campeona, si alguien quiere disputarle el cinturón tendrá que ser en su peso

                              solo faltaría que tuviese que ir ella al peso de la aspirante con el titulo en juego

                              y si solo hay una división en mujeres, es algo que va a empezar, lo van a probar, están tanteando el terreno

                              no es algo consolidado y con recorrido como para hacer de primeras un montón de categorías

                              aparte de que la categoría de mujeres en UFC esta hecha por y para Ronda, a partir de ahí lo que surja

                                La campeona de qué? Kratos, te recuerdo que el travelo ganó todos sus cmbates en SF hasta que la cazaron ciclada y que ella tb era campeona, además de que lleva más victorias seguidas que Ronda. Que Ronda vende más, ok, que está más buena, ok, que es mejor, ok, pero tp menospreciemos por menospreciar. Cyborg ya ha dicho que se podía mover 5 lb, la otra no ha querido moverse ni una lb, pues respeto a las dos y ya.

                                De todos modos, por mi experiencia en marketing y los datos tan vagamente aproximados de que disponemos en este asunto, Ronda debería aceptar esa pelea y ese peso si su objetivo es rentabilizar al máximo su profesión, me parece que no está bien asesorada en esto. Pero bueno, el tiempo dirá.
