M-1 opens new MMA training center in Amsterdam
M-1 Global contracted fighter and former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi opened Amsterdam's first MMA training center on Tuesday, May 19.
By day, the the training center will be the home for Team Benelux of the M-1 Challenge as well as other M-1 Global fighters such as Mousasi, Jason Jones, Jessie Gibbs and Bogdan Christea. In the evening, various styles of martial arts will be taught to the civilian population.
Martial arts disciplines being taught include kickboxing, judo, karate, grappling, brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing and more. The kickboxing department will be under supervision of Milton Felter and Mike Polanen, long-time trainers of world champions such as Marco Pique, Germaine de Randamie and Brian Lo-an-Joe. Felter and Polanen are also promoters of the well known Slamm events.
The new M-1 training center will also serve as the home gym for Fedor Emelianenko during his Holland visits. Emelianenko often vists Holland in order to train with K-1 veterans like Ernesto Hoost and Jerrel Venetiaan.
